"AMG" start-up display on nav screen?

Isn't there a way to program my head unit to display "AMG" upon starting the car instead of "Mercedes Benz??" Anyone have any clues??

Nevermind- found it.

AMG STARTUP SCREEN (3-5-7 trick)
AMG startup screen setup instructions
(see below for picture)
A. Turn on the COMAND and select CD
B. Press and hold the "5" first then press and hold "3" and "7" -- all at the same time for about three seconds
C. This opens a menu with keyboard choices. Scroll down to the AMG and select
D. Press "Back" to the main menu
E. Turn off the COMAND
F. Turn off your car for at least five minutes, so that the change takes effect

This worked for you? I tried to get into the menu about 10 times and no luck.

LOL... Why would you post it as if you kew it worked if you hadn't tried it??

Of course it doesn't.. I tried it on my 04. First clue is that there is no CD button on the 04 thru 06 Comands..I don;t kow about the earlier one's.

LOL, why would you even try if there's no CD button???? Even I wouldn't do that..................

I never said it would work, and hadn't tried it....and wasn't sure if my car had the "CD button" because I wasn't sitting in it- and I don't have every button on my command unit memorized.

Thanks for your input, well noted.

noted o2. That model looks very different from the next year.. Still don't know why they did that.
2003 is the ONLY model that is not interchangeable with another year model.. wierd..

Are you using a modulator for your Sirius or do you have the Aux cable installed?

NO issue.. I thought I'd give it a try anywayz.. using the Mp3-CD button that we have after pressing the Audio button. but no luck.. THat's why I thought you had tried it already because I saw you had an 06 model.

These w220 comands are pretty useless to modify especially the DVD versions as you and I have. See a thread I made years ago where I comletely disected my comand in search for a clue and returned with nada.. so aside from getting the best DVD mp3 performance, I'm finish with the thing.

This donts work for the 220 models. I have tried this till I was blue in the face. I think you could probably have it done with the Star.

The update CD that's mentioned above, P/N A220-589-05-22 is available at your dealer for about $10.00...

This is an updated for the COMAND operating system, NOT an updated maps DVD.
