The dealer resynchronized my Presafe once. I wonder if it's my driving style that is causing the problem (I'm used to being a lead foot and keeping the rpm's a bit high).
I assure you my S65 has seen worse. In 30,000 miles I have actually triggered Pre-safe a few times with sudden high-speed lane changes, for example. But I've never heard of Presafe getting disabled.

No! There is water Cooling also.
The output for the oil (in every turbo) is always at the bottom

After 60K miles, do you recommend replacing with an OEM thermostat or is there an aftermarket alternative?
Yes, with OEM thermostat.

Also, since its a biturbo car - do you guys start wailing on it before the engine fully warms up or let the turbos warm up a bit?
I live in Minnesota and can't remember the day when I spend any significant time let the engine warm up or running it idle before stopping.
Same thing when living in Europe and I easily put 200K miles on an engine. I find big V8/V12 engines run better when pushed hard.

I can't judge the S600TT; I have a S500 but also have a SL600TT with the same engine. Roughly the same weight as the S-Class, but a smaller tank.

Even then, with 90% city & suburban traffic I get 250-280 miles on a 20 gallon tank and about 320 or so on the highway. That is aggressively driven

How bout gas mileage? I am currently getting about 200 miles per tank. I believe the gas tank is 20 gallons. I am pretty heavy on the throttle and like to floor it alot (the power is addictive).
Mine runs between 90-95 C most of the time, not sure if this is good or bad, but I am ALWAYS on the throttle like you. I average about 13 mpg around town per the onboard MPG monitor, but there are times it worse.

On a long 1000 mile trip here is what I got on fuel economy / consumption. At 80mph steady/ EZ driving, fuel consumption display indicated 23.5mpg and after 200 miles the display indicated an "average" of 22. I thought that was too high so I measured actual consumption rather than counting on the trip computer and my gut check was right. Actual mpg over the next 300 milkes (same speed/conditions etc..) was 18.9. I had a chance to recheck that number after another 300 miles and got about the same number (19mpg).

Conclusion: Actaul mpg on my car is about 15% LOWER than indicated.
