W220 Extended warranty
Hi Guys,
I'm looking at purchasing an extended warranty for my 2003 S500...the factory warranty is no longer covering the car. Where should I look to get a good extended warranty for the car? Do I even need one? The car has 68K on it now. I just spent some money on ball joints, tie rod, and now seems to me the aux fan starting making some noise.. never ending problems seem like...

Shop around
I am also looking for a EW for my 03 S430 4Matic.
I have narrowed down to
Auto Repair Warranty 48mo 60k addt'l mi BTB $1899.00
AAAuto Warranty 36mo unlimited mi Greatchoice plan $2047
Auto Advantages, Inc. Platinum Plan 48mo 60k addt'l mi $2626
I am leaning towards the Auto Repair Warranty since it is true BTB and They are warranty company for 28 years.

I did little research on extended warranties but could not come up with any good one but then I went to my mechanic and asked him about his experience dealing with EW companies cuz he is the one who need to get paid after repairs. He mentioned EASY CARE(easycare.com) and the thing he liked about them that they paid by the card right away..
Good luck.
Good luck.

Companies I have listed here alsoo pays with corporate credit card, offers financing plan, and are BBB registered. I have dealt with Great Lakes Warranty company and they are nightmare. Warrantydirect is another good company for MB but costly.
I did get a call back from Easy Care warranty company and they seem pricey compare to the coverage though...

I had it on my AMG, and looked into it for my S600. Bobby Rahal MB uses it and NEVER charged me a penny, aka ZERO deductable.
For a 2004 S600 with 41000 miles, 3 years 36,000 mile Easy Care cost was $4500.
See yeah
PS: Yours will be ALOT less as they sur charge V-12's $1200 addtional I am told

I went with fidelity, it cost me $6300 for platinum 7 years/100k miles additional. They were able to offer me the long warranty since my car had under 25k miles.

I have them on my BMW 750IL and they recently paid $11,000 for some engine work. They didn't cover certain suspension components (but that was a different warranty not the platinum).

For the money, and list of included items, it was a wonderful thing. I had the ZERO dollar deductable, and NEVER had to give them a penny. It was a GOOD warrenty.
Good luck and see yeah

Just to clarify, did you purchased it at the time you purchased your car, or did you purchased the car elsewhere and they sold you a warranty for it? I ask, as I was looking at one from an individual, and wanted to know the process and/or who you spoke with etc if you hopefully did the latter. Thx.

Hello,
this my first post. does anyone know of a good independent MB mechanic in Rhode Island or Massachusetts that take independent extended warranty. I just brought a bumper to bumper extented warranty affilated with AAA after some reseach. But my present independent german motor mechanic said they don't deal with them because the insurance never will pay their labor rates and want to use inferior parts. Now I need a new machanic, any input will be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked with the Authorized MB dealer(s) to see if they accept your warranty company (they'll tell you over the phone usually)? Most MB dealers will usually accept what an extended warranty company pays, plus they probably know how to "work" the extended warranty system to get more. In this economy they'll probably take more business. No-doubt they make up some of the difference with charges from non-warranty customers. You may not want to use a MB dealer, and I understand, but, if you're in a pinch to get some work done, its worth a try.

MB extended warranty
Thank you, I will check with the several dealers in my area.
P.S. Does any one have any experience with WarrantyDirect policy?

Auto Repair Warranty...
Nice to hear they payed no questions asked. Do you have an AMG model? I did get a recent quote from them and it seemed to good to be true. Has anyone else gone with them?

2004 W220 (S430), 2001 R129 (SL500 Sport)
I bought a Continental warranty on my '04 S430 while it was still under factory warranty. It extends to 100k or 4 more years beyond factory. It's $50 deductible. They pay with a Visa card direct to the repair shop. They pay posted labor rates and they pay for OEM parts. In fact, they encouraged me to use the dealer for repair. It cost $4300 (or thereabouts), with 10% down and the balance financed at 0% for 2 years.
I haven't used it yet (wouldn't you know I've got a "good" W220 that doesn't break), so I can't vouch for whether they live up to their promises, but the dealership said they "could work with them."

MAKE SURE TO GET A COPY OF THEIR CONTRACT
When I was signing with them, I told them to send me dafault contract to review to see if there were any "Fine Print". Only thing is that they will not cover the Airmatic. Otherwise, it was the most reasonable.

Thanks for the info. I'm between ARW and a Chrysler contract. I spoke with a pretty cheesy sales guy over at ARW and I've heard mixed reviews. It seems that all info regarding Chrysler Service Contracts is good (plus they seem to cover more than ARW by reading the coverage). I know there's the thought of Chrysler going under, but very unlikey as they'd be bought by someone and even if they did go BK, these contracts are insured, so no need to worry. Did you get a quote through Chrysler or just ARW. The quotes for my 2005 E55 were very similar in price....so just trying to decide..
