Battery totally flat- help
I have an 02 s500 w220 and my children left the rear dvd players on and they have drained the battery flat. Where the car is positioned I can't get access to use jump leads so I'll need to get a battery pack. Can anyone tell me what size of battery pack/charger would be needed for this type of car/battery

Your OE battery would have been a 12 volt, 95 amp-hour battery. With that, a retailer could probably help you. When you get the car started again, yoi may find post 14 at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...st2216730.html to be useful. My owner's manual indicates that synchronizing (resetting) the clock, ESP, side windows, and sunroof may be necessary. In fact, more may be necessary.

cheers skylaw. I'm just back in the house as the bloody alarm started going off. I disconected the battery thinking that it might still be sending the alarm a trickle charge but no luck so I had to find the two fuses for the alarm. I've pulled them out and so far so good its still off

or hook up a 10amp charger to the battery(make sure the key is out)MB best to not use a jump box,the voltage spike can cause an over voltage condition.
Charge it for at least 8 hours and then reset and resync all your systems.
On your model you may or may not need to reset the steering wheel angle sensor,but it would not hurt on restart to turn the steering wheel all the way left to all the way right and back a few times to make sure it gets the correct input.
Before starting the car let the key sit in pos 2 for 2 minutes to set the throttle position sensor,before starting the car.
don't just jump it and drive hoping the alternator will charge the battery fully,it won't and will only harm the battery or the alternator.
