my cousin at dealer can get me a new s65 tachometer for realitively free. from the 03-06 models.
Will this direct fit into my car and will it just need to be reprogrammed for the old miles??
If it does i would open the casing and black out the biturbo amg lettering.

There was a discussion of rock gardening in the new Mideast regional forum. On the basis that Bensonhurst is in the middle eastern part of Brooklyn, he joined in with gusto. A bit too much gusto. Sorta related to this topic. Look at the cluster AMG cluster from a S/CL55 V8 on this NON-AMG S600 V12 with what supposed to be 11,000 ACTUAL miles. Not sure how that claim of "ACTUAL MILES" can be made since we know that cluster was replaced at some point, and it wasn't done by an authorized MB dealer.

These cars store the mileage in a separate computer besides the cluster. You can sync a new cluster to the correct mileage if the cluster is either new or has less than 1000 miles on it. Anything else will cause a mismatch between the two and the cluster will just blink "------" instead of showing the miles.
So I assume they bought a new cluster and programmed it for that car, and the mileage is correct.
Also, the clusters between the S-Class and the CL are not interchangeable. They just look the same.
