glad to be back!
yikes!i just finished/sold a 1991 bmw 850I v12 "nightmare".i got such a great deal on the car that i could not pass it up and made great profit.but let me tell you the electronics in that car are so "relay/module" complex all i wanted was to open the garage and see nothing but the S500 sitting there.the 8 series are beautiful but so unpredictable i will possibly never own another bmw in any series.anyway, glad to be back.i see lorinser is still trying to build a car to compete with the space shuttle and gondon is in a chase plane to monitor the launch.

I sold my 850i a year ago. Man, that was a great car. I always said I would have one in my garage but when I moved to new orleans, its had to go. Company at that time would only pay for 3 cars to be moved. Funny thing though. When looking for another I was like a second away from getting a white 94 850ci in baton rouge, (which is still there) and ended up getting the S Class instead. No regrets.

Spent three years restoring that car. Dont get me wrong, I like the S, its a remarkable car but there is nothing more comforting than being on the long road in a 850.

i understand the "exotic" allure of the 850 but that photo of a beautifully restored/maintained engine compartment gives me as much confidence as a homemade IED built by a autistic afgan rebel.ie' two dme's,one eml,two dk motors,3 accessory modules, two fuel pumps, two cps sensors, plastic heater core interconnect.oops,im relapsing and promised my therapist i would never speak of an 850I again.![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)

Funny as heck, my mechanic that help me do this was my therapist throughout the whole ordeal. Heck, I think he was a little more than a real one after it was said and done
