2004 S500 Transmission Problems
Hey guys,
I'm experiencing tranny problems with my S500. It has relatively high mileage. My mechanic says I need to replace the transmission.
Do you guys know where I can get a hold of used, but in good condition transmission for this car?

I was recently experiencing problems with my 1996 S500 (480k Miles). The transmission was slipping and I thought it was time to replace it, so I was given the www.adsitco.com website. Unfortunately, this website doesn't have any rebuilt transmissions for 03+ S500's.

As the title states, "2004 S500 Transmission Problems"
It's barely getting out of gear, acts as if the car is in neutral sometimes, and the transmission liquid is black. There's also a couple of other problems that I'm forgetting to name.

The mechanic is recommending a rebuilt transmission as there are other things wrong with my transmission.
Would you know where I can locate rebuilt transmissions for this car?

I 100% agree with Oliverk , why are you blindly trusting this guy first opinion . it might be something lot easier and I've being dealing with these cars for 6 years and never came across one that needed a Tranny , so get your shiit together and get 2nd & 3rd pinion about this .

search that thread and it will describe how simple it is to avoid a trans failure based upon degraded fluid/filter.MB says lifetime fluids dont need to be changed.it is rediculous and i cant understand why you would not do a fluid flush/filter change every 50k max,and that is using synthetics.by the time your fluid is black there is no coming back to an improved transmission function.the damage is done and not reverseable.in fact if you change the fluid the thinner viscosity(ie fewer solids)will produce a lower pump pressure and the tranny will function worse than if you had left the nasty black fluid in place.IMO!
