Hide away license plate (installed with pics)

well after countless tickets for no front plate..i was about to get the holes drilled when i came across this plate on youtube..i got the non motorized one to test the fitment and if all is well ill sell this to my buddy n order the motor one....anyways here are the pics...it looks okay when its down i dont know how much the piece will bother me on the bottom of the bumper but i guess it beats having the plate drilled in......i took the pic kneeling down so obviously it will not be that visible if your standing in front of the car...what you guys think?

plate hider

just ordered a motorized version. Will post pictures after install. Figure if I get pulled over for "no front plate" I can hit that remote and flip it up while he is calling in my drivers license and then ask him to look again.

I had the same exact thing installed on my car... it left a bad taste in my mouth. It looked okay, but the whole thing on the bottom of the bumper bothered the crap out of me every time I saw it.

I had it installed in CT.. when I got to my house in NY, I promptly jacked my car up, took that crap off and kissed my $100 good bye...

I have the whole assembly still brand new if anyone is interested.

where did you have it mounted? maybe cuz the 01 bumpers shaped a bit diff i have it right where the bumper curves so it doesnt look too bad...ive paid over 700$ worth of tickets in the last 2 years...it was either have it like this or drill it dead center of the bumper...

Same exact location as yours... they had to trim a little piece of the bumper off all the way on the bottom to make it fit.

I've gotten one ticket in this car, and one ticket in my black one.

I think it would look a lot better if it were mounted in the middle. then, even when folded down, it prob wouldnt look so bad. is there a reason it not mounted in the middle?

the middle of the bumper is the lowest point so it wouldnt work for me since my car is pretty low as is...also it would have been way more visible in the center

Plates

SS,

I installed the motorized version. I know you put on the manual version.

Anyone out there have an idea on how I can get power to the leads that came with unit? The directions show connecting it to the battery cables...Sorta difficult with a 2' wire from the device when the battery is in the trunk.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Just a word of caution - I spent $160 on the motorized version. Couldn't figure out how to tap power for it. Emailed these jokers three times in two weeks and they have NEVER responded. Zero customer service. I'm going to find a stereo installer place to see if they have any ideas on the low voltage tap location so I can power it up. Bottom line, I wouldn't buy this thing again.
