Space above CD changer on a S500?

In my 04 there is another slightly narrower space for another component (?) above the CD changer. It is empty and has a clip in cover on it.
I guess I could use it for storage of spare CD magazines.

I'm glad this came up! I also have a space above my changer in the trunk of my '04 S500, I assumed that it was where the Nav unit was supposed to be, because when I push the Nav button on the dash, it says something like not installed... If the Navigation DVD can go in the in-dash player, that would be awesome. The car came with an empty Nav DVD jewel case with the other documents... I saw the empty space in the trunk and figured the previous owner sold the actual unit on ebay with the disc in it!!!

My nav system disc
My Nav system disc goes in the COMAND unit DVD drive.
The coolest thing for me is that I can choose between English and Japanese in the voice guidance.
I do speak Japanese but it is great having a nice woman's voice telling me to turn left etc in ENGLISH when I am in an unfamiliar city.
I have never had this on any other car I have owned here in Japan.
My friends are doubly envious.
