S430
want to buy S430 Pros and cons
New to the forum, Never owned a mercedes. Thinking of getting a 2002 S430 with 50K miles from a dealer with 1 year warranty, What should I be looking for in a S430? HIs the S430 reliable? How is the maintenance?

If I were you, get the 2003 or newer S430 or even S500. Difference in some of the components such as Nav, headlights, and etc..
I have purchased 2003 S430 4Matic with 79k mi three months ago and I have absolutely searched for the cleanest out there. I was originally looking for S500 4Matic but the budget did not allow to get S500, so I go the S430. Now days,, you can probably get the S500 in very reasonable price.
S500 obviously has more power when you needed. Just casual daily driving, S430 is sufficient for me. I did not get Xenon with mine, so I got the xenon upgrade for $99.00 and it is nice. 2002 and older will have different headlight lens not the projector style.
From 2004,, CD based Nav upgraded to DVD base Nav which is better than the CD based.
Do some research to get the MB with clean vehicle history, maintenance record, and make sure to perform PPI(Pre-Purchase Inspection). Well worth $100 to spend.
