Need for speed- how tough were they built?
So everytime I get in the S500 I cant resist the urge to put the pedal down and make sure to rev her to at LEAST 3.5k in each of the first few gears... and i feel guilty afterwords. Like ive just raped the Kings daughter... heres this beautiful quiet luxury automobile and no im not pushing it to its limits but I sure as hell want to. and theres those times where yes I just have to go for it and rev it to 5800 in first just to hear her purr... sounds REALL nice 
And I promise myself, for the car and the gas card that Ill drive more civil like next time... but it never happens...
So my question is just how much can they take? How well were the engines designed for high rpms and how well can the trannys take the load? I know its quality german engineering but can they really sustain this abuse, ok its not abuse, but aggressive driving on a daily basis?

as long as you avoid the neutral drops and burnouts, giving it some RPM once its warm is nothing to be concerned about.

They can take aggressive driving, but no car can take abuse. I've done the going 65 and drop it down in 2nd (on accident), over revved in 1st gear while burning out. I just let it idle for a few...pray...then go about my business. lol But seriously i'm 25 and I don't baby anything, If I have to run to Charlotte, NC which is a 1hr 45min drive going the speed limit, you can believe i'm jumping in the S500 and i'll make in an 1hr 15min. (and thats passing on the entrance lane every now and again) *Radar Jammer helps*
