check engine light
thanks!
Could be anything from low batt voltage causing a sensor to be unable to report to its about to explode........
Why not invest in a $50 OBDII scanner so you can pull your own codes?

I've got the shop manual now, and if it didn't even turn over, there's a million things that could be the problem.
Get yourself a scanner like suggested above. You should never ever go to a dealer without knowing what's wrong. Ever. Unless you are Bill Gates.
Also, http://www.bba-reman.com/content.asp...on_fault_codes and http://www.benzworld.org/forums/v-cl...-will-get.html may help.

thanks.
The CPS is on top of the trans bell housing on the drivers side usually. Can be seen looking down between back of engine and firewall. Hard to reach. Reads position of the flywheel and provides that data to initiate spark and fuel delivery timing. They are a common part that fails; gets hot and stops providing data, cools off and works again. Most of them take about an hour to replace and the part is usually between $50-100.
We can diagnose and repair any malfunction in the car... All of this can be done on the spot while you wait and you don't have to worry about "getting the upper hand" as we are not out there to steal money from you.
You can bring the car down to our shop in Farmingdale and have us check it out or we can send a technician with a full Mercedes diagnostic system out to your house and find out what's going and what's required to repair it.
We can also have someone come by your house and tell you what's wrong with it.
