either your conductor plate in the transmission or the connector, take of the cover under the car near the tranny and see if you see fluid comming from the connector, you can replace it.

A friend had shifting problems with his 2002 S430, and we discovered that the problem was ATF in the shift control module. It took less than an hour to get the shifting corrected until we can change the leaking connector.
Open the fuse/relay/SAM cover at the back of the right front fender.
Look carefully for traces of ATF on the harnesses.
Follow the oily harness, and remove the small module attached.
Carefully open the box, and thoroughly clean the board and box. We used brake cleaner. In our case, we either popped off a capacitor can from the board, or it was already loose. Reattaching it only took a few minutes - but be certain that you get the polarity correct!
Clean the harness and connector.
Reassemble.
Plan to get and install the adapter on the transmission to prevent further leakage.
You may have to do this a couple of times to get all of the leaking ATF out of the harness, but it is not a big deal. It would take us fifteen minutes to clean the module next time.
This might not solve your problem - but it is almost free and easy.

2001 Mercedes-Benz S500
Hey Guys!
I've a 2001 S500. I've noticed a light transmission slipp by higher speed. It usually happens over 60mph. When i drive on interstate, and i'm coming behind a truck or car and take off my feet from the accelerate, and after i step back on it, to speed up, the transmission slipps a little bit. Like when You drive a manual car and You push the clutch in and get the rpm higher and You let the clutch out quiet fast it seems the same.
Any idea what is it?
