Replacing HID Low Beam Headlamps

I was looking online and saw that Sylvania, makes a replacement bulb for my HID Headlights for my 01 S500. If I buy this bulb versus the more expensive replacement bulb from the dealer, am I buying a product that is as good as the dealer part?

Any opinions????

The OEM bulb is garbage. A Sylvania bulb would be much better. Just make damn sure it's the HID bulb and not the H7 halogen.

What makes you say the OEM bulb is garbage, from my personal experience the bulb was original on the car, I run my lamps constantly day and night, car has 120,000 miles on it and they lasted 9 years.

It's well known that the Merc HID system is outdated and bad compared to what's available today. I just upgraded my '02 with projector headlights, and was going to use the stock HID system in the upgrade, but the whole system was such low quality compared to the newer stuff available for 1/10th the price, I trashed the whole bit.

Don't get me wrong, the old bulbs work just fine, but there's absolutely zero reason to spend that kind of money on an inferior bulb.
