2003 s55 amg?
i got a close friend who sometimes drives his s55 and its constantly in his garaged and covered.
its a 2003 and it has 60k miles on it and i can get it for a great price.
Is there anything negative on this particular model year? problems? recalls?.
any input would be great

ABC has been known to be problematic. Some issues also with the intercooler fluid pump. First is expensive, second is not.
I generally don't understand the point of stuffing a loud brash V8 into a luxury sedan, but some people seem to like it, and if you do, it will probably be enjoyable.
I'd rather go for the 600 to get the nicer interior and the V12.
Aside from those two issues, the rest of the issues are associated with all 220s such as the cluster, quick suspension component wear, etc.

I have the same car, I love it, but it is big $$$ to upkeep, which also means you can usually get them for a good price now.
I had both right side struts start leaking (previous owner hit a pot hole or something). It was a $3600 in parts alone. Tires are also $$$ $330 for each back tire and $280 or so for each front.
The mechanic who works on my car told me something very true about these cars. They were once $100K+ cars and the maintenance that they need doesn't drop in price just because the car does.
That said, I Love my car. It fast, good looking and I plan on keeping it a long time.
Make sure you find a really good MB Mechanic (Non dealers), and you might be in good shape.

My freind just picked up a 2005 s55 AMG 58k on it 3 year bumper to bumper Chrysler after market warranty. Black on Black In NJ for $28,900.
Excellent condition car fax clean.
Do your homework prices are all over the place.
Sold to him from a New BMW dealership just opened, but I think that the same person owns the MB dealership on rt.1 also.
