I got an oil catch can on ebay which looks like a 20oz can tall and thin with 2 1/2 inch ports on top. Came with blue tinted clear hose 1/2 inch. Stock hose is at least 1 inch so I cut 3/4 inch hose longitudinally and wrapped the 1/2 inch hose and stuck it into the stock hose on both ends and wrapped with electrical tape and clamped over the connections and wound wire around to secure from popping off with the high air pressure in there. I put the catch can between left headlight, abc and power steering reservoirs and sits snug. Can has a drain screw on bottom for when oil needs to be drained. No pics yet. Only thing I am worried about is the diameter of hose, is there a lot of air going thru this system to the point that air pressure will build up in crankcase and cause probs?

Thank you! My point exactly... you are toying with a very finely tuned $60,000 motor... adding oil catch cans and messing around with vacuum lines is a very bad idea.

If you are looking to add power, an ECU/TCU tune is not expensive and will prove to be much easier to do than to mechanically try and induce more boost.

My question is... if you screw around with the vacuum lines and the boost control mechanism and you do achieve more boost, how will you dump more fuel into the motor in order to make use of the extra boost?

This is what happens when these cars fall in value to the price of a new Civic.

If you're not going to do it right with the correct tune, then don't bother.

As much as you think you're smarter than the MB engineers, they certainly have a bit more experience.

I have the kleemann tune and tcu. My question is: Is there any problem using an oil catch can on drivers side pcv hose going into smaller diameter hose to can and then same size hose going into larger oem hose to airbox connection. At idle it seems there is vacuum at pcv hose but under boost may have a lot of pressure that wants to get out, thus the large amount of oil accumulated in intercooler and probably gets into intake and combustion chambers. A lot of e55 guys have done this already but dont know how it worked out.

At idle or low power the air from the CCV is diverted into the intake manifold. At boost or load, the air is diverted into the pipe on the driver's side airbox.

There are 4. They are all the same part number, and are listed as B28/4, B28/5, B28/6 and B28/7 in service information. They aren't "controlled" by the ECU, they are read by the ECU. Nothing is controlled by the voltage regulator except voltage.
