Need Opinion - "Display Defective" message. Dealer said L/F SAM faulty???
I know there was a recall on the instru cluster on this year/model but the dealer didn't carry out the recall repair as they couldn't made it work with the new cluster a couple years ago and decided to leave the old custer in the car.
Questions: does the cluster has anything to do with the problem described? and are the problems definitely results of a defective SAM?
Oh one more thing, I replaced both low beam xenon bulbs becuase both were out. and the SAM problem came out next day. Wondering if there is any connection...
Any input will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Frank

I don't know what caused your SAM problem, but it would not be related to the instrument cluster - the cluster would not cause a SAM problem. If you shorted anything during your bulb replacement, it could possibly have damaged the SAM.
BTW, the instrument cluster "recall" has been superseded by a 10 year extended warranty that is not dependent on the VIN.

Any trick in removing SAM?
