Windshield Wiper Fluid Level - 1 malfunction

Hi

My 2000 S500 just had the Windshield Wiper Fluid Level light come on in the dash. Along with that it now has "1 malfunction" where it was "0 malfunction" just a few days ago.

The fluid was a little low. I filled it and nothing has changed? same error, it is still full.

Is there a way to reset this?
or what can it be?

Thank you in advance for your time
V

you may have a bad sensor. Try unplugging the level sensor, and plug it back in.

I thought that I might.

I unplugged it earlier today and it seemed to fix it. Then I was driving and it came back on.

So its probably the sensor? any idea how much ?

How did the fluid sensor look when you unplugged it? You might want to clean it to see if it works well, otherwise replace sensor. My guess is $20 for the sensor and you can replace it yourself easily.

Good luck!
