Warning + good news for brakes W220

Okay, first the bad news:

DO NOT BUY EBC REDSTUFF # DP31487C for your S430, S500, S600 brakes. WHY, they DO NOT FIT as they are built for the S65 size brakes. I only bring this up as I LOVE my EBC redstuff on other cars and waited over two weeks for these pads to come in, only to find they DON'T FIT

Okay, the good news

Autozone stocks and has GOOD rotors for our toys that are cross drilled for only$99.95. YES boys and girls under $100 IN STOCK And they come with an unlimted 2 year warrenty.

I only state this for ease and quikness, as I received mine from Mr Brenton, thank you and would GLADLY buy from him again

Okay, carry on

PS: My wear sensors on the pad were worn out without a clue, but my electronic wear sensor still had a little life left, go figure

Okay, I'll send a pic tonight, as I was going to return them to Summit
Oh yeah, I have an extra wear sensor that I'll through in to. I bought two thinking they were like the AMG's, but alas they take only one on the passenger side.
Also, what do the Autozone rotors look like?
They look GREAT, cross drilled and two year warrenty

wow, thats great! Thanks for posting that. I would have never ever thought that AutoZone would have carried the parts. I need to replace my brakes and rotors. Do they have the pads as well?

Yes they do, best pads they had were under $70.00. It really hurt me NOT to able to use the EBC's as they are the BEST all around pad that I have EVER used, IMHO.

Anyway, Autozone's pads bedded well, NO squeals, and stop MUCH better than my old originals. Overall first impressions of them, B+

I have a set of Akebono Euro ceramic pads and Meyle Platnium rotors in stock in my garage when I need to put them on.

Dont be fool by good looking rotors.. it is the materials that matters. I had a set of great looking crossdrilled rotors for my ML55. and they were god awful. Stopping power was considerably compromised. Switch those crap rotors out and got Meyle's . Now it stops much better.

I agree my friend. However I really have had good results with Autozone products. MUCH better in fact than with Ford, Chysler, or GM's OEM crap

They are on wife's car, my work car, and the SRT fun ride. I will say, that on EVERYONE of the above, the results are positive my friends.

You know what they say: If something sounds too goog to be true, it probably is.

That is a very low price per rotor. We are anxious to see how they work on your car. Please keep us posted as you put more miles on the car.

Just say NO my friend. Go with the REDs.

1. They are ceramic, which means NO, okay a VERY little dust
2. They are track worthy, maybe not important, but it does mean they will take WHATEVER you throw at them
3. They grip like MAD

Enough said

Two points of interest here my friend:

1. Just because you pay a very high price, does NOT imply top quality. Case in point MHP tunes
2. If you bothered to read my posts, I clearly stated I DO NOT HAVE AUTOZONE ROTORS ON MY CAR. I received mine from Mr Brenton, again THANKS RICK I simply stated there price as a GOOD option, IMHO.

Good info. I'm just about to install my new pads and rotors so I thought I would share what I got.

Meyle front rotors, cross drilled and coated from Euro Parts Direct both for $149 and free shipping. My rear rotors only needed to be turned.

Centric PosiQuiet ceramic pads, front and rear for $100 with shipping from Discount Brakes.

I've used Meyle many times for my BMW but I've never heard of Centric brand pads. I figure since they were ceramic, low dust and made in the USA that they were worth a try.

I think I came out pretty good overall as far as price to quality. The only down side is the 4-5 day shipping.

who makes them. BTW red stuff fit on my s600, wore all the way thru, now I have yellow stuff-racing pads which stop on a dime. you may not think they fit b/c they are much deeper and go closer to hub of rotor. but that is more surface area to grab, why complain? stops great for me.

No, I KNOW the ones that they sent me would not work, because they simply would not FIT in my caliper as they were too long as you stated. I would have LOVED to have more swept area, aka better heat disapation, but alas this was not the case. What part number were on your redstuff my friend?

By the way, I have tracked, drvien hard, and just about everything under the sun on redstuff and have NEVER had any faults from them

Yellow's as you know are a track pad which require heat to work. Not a very freindly wife situation unless she is aware of this and takes the proper precautions, IMHO. I would not have an issue with this, but my wife, well lets just say she does not always think first about driving

They were dp31487c just like yours, and now I have 41487 yellow stuff and they do work when cold as well as the reds did, I can stop on a dime and give you a nickel change. Maybe they gave you the wrong pads, mine fit right in the caliper although they go deeper toward the hub of the rotor which is fine. I don't know why they made them so much deeper than stock, maybe for better stopping power.
