Acronym Guide
Sometimes when I join a forum, its like alphabet soup, and due to the search limitations, it can be hard to find out what stuff means.
So I figured for the Newbs, we can create a list of acronyms that can be quickly and easily referenced. Please add any that you know of relating to the 220 or correct the ones I've listed
ABC= Active Body Control-hydraulic suspension
TPMS= Tire Pressure Monitoring System
ESP= Electronic Stability Program
BAS= Brake Assist
SAM= Signal Acquisition Module
IC= Instrument cluster or Intercooler
TC= Torque Converter or transfer case
DCM= Door Control Module
ETS= Electronic Traction System (also 4ets)
SBC=Sensotronic Brake Control (Its a common question whether we have it)
PSE= Vaccum System for doors/locks (don't know actual definition)
C Tranny Setting= Comfort, starts in 2nd gear, earlier shifts
S Tranny Setting= Standard, starts in 1st gear, delayed shifts
KG= Keyless Go
ETC= Electronic Trunk closer
thats all I can think of right now

Similar to the double meaning of of "IC" and "TC," PSE is also Portable Support Electronics, the cellular control module in pre-UHI and pre-MHI phone systems.
A few more;
COMAND = Cockpit Management and Navigation Device
CP-211 = the combined cell phone/Tele-Aid "Communications Platform" in '03 and '04 E-Classes, '04 S-Classes, and some other models.
CDC = CD Changer
CPS = Crankshaft Position Sensor (when it fails, car will often die after running a short time, then eventually not start at all)
HU= Head Unit
MHI = Multiple Handy Interface (Handy being the German word for cell phone), the newer cell phone system for U.S. spec cars.
UHI = Universal Handy Interface - the newer cell phone system used in Euro spec cars.
MAF - Mass Air Flow sensor (failure results is rough idle, rough running)
MFD - Multifunction Display, the LED display in the instrument cluster.
VCM = Voice Control Module
