Door modular control- self locking unit install
Does anyone know how to remove the door module control (self closing unit)? I got the door panel removed and the three screws holding in the unit. There is a rod that goes from the outside door handle to the module. I cannot figure out how to remove that, let alone being able to see it. Pls help.

The pics I see on AllData show a bar or rod that connects to the latch at a square housing. The instructions say to "Open retainer for unlocking bar".
I'll bet there's a clip or something similar that you lever out with a small screwdriver. This clip probably grabs threads or grooves on the unlocking bar, so pulling it out will release the bar.
It also says you need to "Unhook window guide rail from inner door panel and push to one side" The reference is for the rear window channel, and it looks like it attaches at the bottom with a bolt.
I have a 2" mirror on a telescopic pole for things just like this. At least you can see what you're facing - doesn't help much with actually doing the work however.
