Steering Wheel Button Cradle

Not long ago I put in the maybach style steering wheel buttons to cover my old nasty sticky ones. In order for them to fit properly I had to silicone the white plastic cradle into the button in order for it to stay as the new buttons were not molded exactly to shape. wish the seller would have told me this before I purchased.

Regardless, today, the volume button fell out into my lap as I pushed it and upon examination its clear what has happened. The small black peg on the outside of the button cradle on the steering wheel itself has broken off. In other words, theres no way in hell this button is going back on. I thought about doing some surgery which would require drilling a tiny hole through the plastic where the peg was, then inserting and glueing in a tiny screw to act as that black peg hinge.

I guess my question is, do you guys have any advice, similar issues, or know where I can get the steering wheel connector part of the steering wheel button. Thanks
