Car: 2001 S500, with 48-49k miles or so?

Just wondering if you guys might know whats up with a S500 we got. Drove car out yesterday.. about 5 miles.. got out of car and ran errands and restarted car.. check engine light popped up but no malunfuction on the OSD. I start driving and notice that when im accellerating the car is lethargically acceling so slow...

Put a little more gas and when it hits over 1.7-2k rpm it starts to pickup its normal speed.

Got home, shut off car for a couple hours and restarted and did a test drive.. Car worked fine.. but CEL still on.

Next day, started car up again and CEL is still on and the car is acting up again and is acceling really slow up to 1.7-2k rpm and then it starts to pickup speed and power again.


any idea whats wrong?

Would an acceleration pedal throw a CEL though? How could i diagnose if its the pedal or not?

Not necessarily.. best thing to do do it to take it in and have it looked at, then decide how you want to go about the repair. It only cost around 90 bucks for the stealer to to tell you what the problem is. It could be a number of things.

confirmed today from dealership that CEL was coding an error for the accelerator.
