"A/C Off" light won't go off...

i have a 2004 220 and the "ac off" light won't go off and i need some a/c! i did a A/C diagnostic mode and below are some of the readings...

in car temperature sensor...30.0c
outside temperature sensor...62c
both heater core temps...28c
evaporator temp sensor...29c
refrigerant pressure in bar...6.7 (4 is bar)
refrigerant temp...55c
sun senor voltage...9% (it's cloudy outside)

the first two reading appear to be too far apart as it's about 70f today.

i used the search function but didn't have much luck...any suggestions? thanks in advance, john

If your refrigerant has been low and tripped the light, the A/C off light will not reset until the system is serviced.

You can troubleshoot your system further here: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...ssue-w220.html but it seems you're getting no cooling - likely low refrigerant.

Skylaw...thanks for the help!!! i can drive it for about 50 miles then the light comes on... the trouble code is 1298...rear evaporator core temp...i reset the system and it will work for a little bit, then the light comes back on. the system blows cold and when monitoring the core temp for the back (#32) it seems to be in the normal range...i will replace the sensor and see what happens. thanks again for your help!!! john

btw...do you know how to remove the passenger side rear view mirror...i put a post on the sticky towards the top and got no respose...it seems the 2003+ are different than the 00-02. thanks again!
