The Sylvania Cool Blues are not blue at all. If it's the Xenon look you are looking for don't get the Cool Blues because you will be disappointed. They give a bright white light with no blue color. If you want the Xenon look, get some PIAA's. I have some PIAA Super Xtremes in my w140 and they are very bright and have a bluish color like the factory Xenons.

The PIAA H4's were $80.00 and I bought them locally from an audio shop that I buy my stereo stuff from. The guy even popped them in for me while I was there. It was not hard at all. Not sure about the w220 body though. They should be similar. I see the PIAA's on eBay all the time. They sell for $60.00 - $70.00 on eBay. You might find the Nokya's on eBay too. I think they are about $22.00. Some are only $18.00. Take a look.

arent those called "hyperwhites" or something, i heard they blow out after a couple of weeks because its really just 30% xenon gas with a mixture of other gases in a regular halogen bulb or something. they may look like xenons when u look at the headlight, but the area the light will cover at night probably cannot match real xenons.

"Hyperwhites" are the cheap immitations of PIAAs. Some "hyperwhites" are merely higher wattage bulbs that are brighter than your stock bulbs, but you risk burning your wiring because of the extra heat generated by the bulb's higher wattage. Some hyperwhites are stock bulbs tinted blue so you get the xenon/hid look. This actually makes the bulb dimmer than your original bulb. These generic "hyperwhite" bulbs usually are not DOT approved and do not state anywhere on the package the brightness level of the bulb. The brightness is usually given in Kelvins (color temperature of light). Factory Xenon/HID light project a color temperature of about 5000K (close to the color of sunlight). The PIAAs color temperature range from 3800K to 4200K depending on the model of the bulb you get. Pretty close to factory Xenon/HID lighting. Obviously, they are NOT going to give you the exact brightness of a factory Xenon headlight. But the price of the bulb is $80.00 and the price of the factory Xenon headlights are well over $2000.00.
