How do you know if you need cabin filters and fuel filters?
Aside from opening up the compartment and checking them physically, are there symptoms and telling signs that a new set of filters may be needed? Funny smells, or anything like that?
My heater takes almost until the car's engine is at operating temperature to start really heating up, is that normal? Maybe like 10 or more minutes. Do the filters affect this at all?
Also, I'm not sure if the last owner replaced the fuel filter. It's expensive, around $300 with labor to get replaced i was quoted at mercedes - but I'm not sure if mine needs changing yet. Like the above, any signs to watch out for, I know reduced MPG, but I can get 24 on the highway with an S55 so the MPG seems normal.
Cabin and charcoal filters www.autohausaz.com and intervals also on the link to service manuals.
No they won't affect engine coming to temp.
Inspect coolant level zerex GO5.
Change your tstat if it is at proper level coolant wise and taking a long time to come to operating temp.
Stop going to the dealer. If you don't diy find a good indie MB shop.
