1999 S430L telephone query
Hi all,
I have just bought a low mileage (42k) S430L, it has the built in phone handset in the arm rest in addition to the hadns free controls and the comand screen says no card when the phone button is pressed, assuming this takes a sim card, where does it go? Unfortunately I don't have the manuals for the car.
Thanks

Phone issue
Does the phone even work? I bought a 2001 S430, gorgeous car-love it. I was told that it carried an analog signal and MB was going digital. It would take a major conversion of some type and I gave up. I would like to hear if there is a reasonable fix without having to do damage to the interior of my car. Would love to use that component.

The phone systems in the early models were outdated just a year after the car came out. MB went digital after the 00-01 year and analog reception isnt even available anymore. You can get some really nice aftermarket kits that will allow you to have the integration with the car the original phone did, and use it with your new bluetooth phone. Just be ready to shell out $500 or $600 bucks.

My car has the Motorola Bluetooth module. I'll post a picture when I get home unless someone beats me to it.
