Parking Brake won't fully release - making squealing noise - Fixed!
Hi,
My new-to-me 2004 S500 is giving me a little trouble today. I set the parking brake when I parked on an incline earlier today. I released the brake and drove off and now there is a loud squeal from the passenger rear wheel. I have tried to set and release the parking brake several times, and the noise persists.
Is the parking brake on the the passenger side rear? Should I just pull off the rotor and see what is going on in there?
Any tips? I obviously cannot drive it like this.
Thanks in advance.

E-brakes don't squeal.( normally ). its more than likely your rear pads

Fixed it. There was a little metal road debris inside the rotor rubbing against the dust shield. I removed the rotor and it fell out. Buttoned everything back up and the noise is gone.
Whew.
