Tail Light Replacement for 2006 W220
I have a broken rear left taillight lens on my 2006 W220. I want to replace it with an OEM unit, to match the undamaged right taillight. My questions are:
1. Can I buy just the lens or do I have to buy the entire taillight unit?
2. Most ebay listings I have seen are for model years 2000 to 2005. Does the 2006 have a different taillight than the prior model year W220's?
3. What is a good source to buy a new or used OEM lens or unit?
The dealer has quoted me $500+ parts and labor to replace the light. I'm looking for a better alternative.

2) The reason therefore is that the last Model Year was late 2005, and this is sold in the USA as MY2006. Only the upgrade in 2002/03 has different lights, but not mechanically but design wise. You need the once with the thinner clear stripes
3) The lights are simple to replace, no problem. Takes 4-5 screws to remove and swap the lights in max. 20min each side. However when you buy from E*** sometimes you need to swap the LED brake lights (a little PCB inside the light), since the lights come w/o them.
4) I would replace both sides, since the existing may have changed colors slightly over time and you might see it. You can find good quality lights in E*** for less them $300 the pair
