Prince2618, I have asked you NOT to post discussion questions here. POST THEM IN THE W220 FORUM BUT NOT HERE. This thread is a reference tool, and posting general discussion questions will do nothing but garbage up the thread for everyone else.
Please respect the rest of the forum members and DO NOT POST QUESTIONS IN THIS THREAD.

I have a SRS issue. I recently took my 2003 S500 to the dealership due to an SRS issue. My car has roughly 103680 miles. The dealer informed me that the passenger side sealt belt buckle needed to be replaced at $595. My question is could I change it myself with a belt buckle from another S500 or should I just take it to the shop.

taillights
Great resource SkyLaw...thanks. But I can't find a reference for taillight replacements. Mine have corroded circuit boards and are triggering erroneous faults...lights work fine. I'd like to change them myself but don't know if the job is easy or a nightmare. Any hints?

THIS THREAD IS A REFERENCE TOOL, NOT A DISCUSSION THREAD
Please see posts 18 and 27, and post your question in the appropriate location.
MBWorld allows a relatively short time in which to edit posts. This means I cannot edit the original post, and unfortunately, must add updates following it. This is unwieldy enough (if you want the benefit of a more coherent document, see the versions of this at http://mbca.cartama.net/showthread.php?t=33904 or http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...dia-start.html - their editing rules enable a much better product).
If members inject their particular questions into this thread, it will quickly become very unwieldy and virtually useless as an organized reference tool. PLEASE DON'T DO IT. Post your questions separately, as a new thread, in the W220 forum.

While the previous tip was greatly appreciated it didn't work. So now I am asking if I could get away with changing my seat belt buckle with one from another car. And if so, is it easy.

But you did it anyway, for the third time, MLT.
May you never get your question answered, unless you post it where it belongs.
Honestly, gents, I am going to abandon this thread if this keeps up. No updates, no new material. You'll have to go to another forum for it, or do a LOT of searching for answers on your own.

CHANGE FOR FUTURE "W220 S-CLASS ENCYCLOPEDIA" UPDATES - LATEST UPDATE 9/28/2010
Because MBWorld limits the time available to edit posts to 24 hours, this thread has become disorganized and difficult for members to use. Therefore, I will update it by posting an updated .PDF file, which will be better-organized and easier to use than the thread. TO BE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST FILE, PLEASE SCROLL TO THE END OF THE THREAD AND CHECK FOR NEWER VERSIONS, since updating the attachment to this post will also become impossible after 24 hours.
The file has the hyperinks that should get you to the great material contributed by so many members from several forums, including MBWorld, BenzWorld, and MBCA. You will need Adobe Reader 9 or Acrobat 9, or later. The latest versions are available at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/. The current .PDF has 20 updates beyond what is posted above.
Alternatively, you can download a Microsoft Word version of the file at http://www.mbca.org/forum/w220-s-cla...dia-start-here

Skylaw, saw in one of your links:
"Wolfgang has done a very good writeup of Airmatic on his ML page, complete with pictures, at Wolfgang's MB Page: dynamics + suspension"
link doesn't work. Was looking for something on ABC in particular. Help?

I have a little bit on it in the .pdf file above; and a Google search on either "Mercedes ABC suspension" or "Mercedes Active Body Control" will get you a lot. I believe Wolfgang has taken his site down.

Skylaw wrote "do not post your questions here"
-->Some people continued to ask him questions
So he repeated his plea again and again
-->Some people continued to ask questions
Skylaw writes that he will stop posting if the stupid illiterates keep posting questions here
-->The guys who never listen but always speak continue to post silly questions.
Now we got it: Skylaw has made his threat true and he is no longer posting. This is why I am writing now, otherwise I would not have done it (did not want to screw up the huge gem skylaw was creating)
Damned be the following for chasing Skylaw away. May you never get a question answered that is in the wrong thread:
Bob727 (tail lights)
MLT (SRS)
prince2618 (hot air)
prince2618 (changeover valve)
ervinski7 (spot the difference)
paulmerc (heating)
classyS (i replaced stinky filters)
