Question 2005 S500 4Matic Airmatic Question

I just finished replacing my Air Pump, Relay and Filter. All seems to be working well. But, when I was doing this, I was wondering why a manual air inlet valve isn't installed to be used in emergency? You know, when the car is on the tires...It didn't look like it would be difficult to install a "T" fitting and run to an air valve, like on a traditional air shock installation. Am I making this sound too simple, or is there something about the Airmatic system that would prevent this? I would like to have had such a temporary fix when my car was sitting down and I wanted to drive it to my mechanic.
