buying next week, what should dad offer?

Dad will be buying '03 S430 off lot next weekend. I want to help give him an idea of what he should pay over MSRP. I feel that this is the best place to ask. Thanks for your help.

There invoice price is $68, 638 and their MSRP is $73, 320 for a base model no options.

You should not have to pay anything over MSRP. In fact you should be able to get under MSRP.

The only cars going over MSRP are
SL's clk55, and e55. The rest of the MB line should be going for under MSRP.

I'd suggest S6, S3, S2. If it supposes to be a family car, then
Four Zone Climate Control,
Heated Rear Seats,
Rear Side Window Roller Blinds
can be added.
Another options worth to consider are:
Parktronic, Keyless Go, Active Body Control (ABC) Suspension.

Which dealer are you going to? I know someone at American Service Center (ASC) that can get you a good deal.

HBL service sucks and personally, their sales isn't much better.

I usually take my car to ASC for service. Great service and great people. Euromotor cars is not bad service either. At least they give you Benz as rental cars. ASC unfortunately lends you Enterprise cars from across the street.

Good luck

$2,000

You can get a 430 for $2K over sticker if you negotiate. Remember...GET THE CAP COST (sale price from the dealer to the bank), and find out the RESIDUAL rate. That will effect your price.

Good luck!

Not sure what the S6, S3 and S2 packages are off hand, but I think the four zone climate control is pointless. Other than having the cool looking air conditioning controls in the back, the separate left/right temp controls seem useless. Also, if you have the 4 zone, you lose the compartment under the armrest.
Heated seats are nice, and if you don't plan on tinting the car, the rear side roller blinds are great too.
I think parktronic on a car this size is a must, especially if you parallel park often.
Good luck with the deal.
