Slip-On Exhaust Tips

Slip-On Exhaust Tips
Anyone try the dual slip-on exhaust tips that resemble the S55 or S600 exhaust tips upto 2002 model. They do not require any welding or cutting. Apparently you insert the stock exhaust tip through the top part of the chrome tip and the exhaust gas exits from the bottom of the tip. From the back view, it looks very factory. Any advice would be appreciated.

Looking from behind the rear of a car with these tips, they look very realistic. If you look from the side of the car at a low angle, you can see where the tips abruptly stop, giving the secret away. They should have made them so their back ends curve up into the bottom of the trunk area. However they are still good looking and can keep people guessing. I think there is only one company that makes these (Schatz?) although the price ranges from about $190 to $250 depending upon the retailer.

No need to weld them. They attach with allen screws. They do look great from the back, but from side, you can tell. They are the best looking , short of actual new exhaust.

Yeah, where do you get AMG tips??
The only tips I have seen (and own) are the Schatz ones, good quality, but they do look fake from the side.

I don't think AMG makes tips (although I would be glad to hear that I am wrong). The Schatz tips are shaped like AMG tail pipes looking at them from the back of the car.

2000 S-Class
There are two types of quad tips for the S-class. The tips on my car curve up and are flushed with the muffler. The other tips are shorter and just cut off like the single tips. Here is a link to my post! I hope this helps.

I love my Single Slip Ons, EASY as Heck to Install
I don't get too many people stooping down to see if they are real or not. the OE tips do not hang out at all they are flush.
I paid $219 at Performance Products:

Can I add dual exhaust tips to my 2001 S? Help
I just got a 2001 S that I'm in love with. I am wondering, how do I get the dual exhaust pipes that I see on some S classes? I love them and want to know is it a big deal to have these installed? Where should I go? Are they expensive? Thanks for your help.

EASY DIY ALLEN WRENCH INSTALLATION, NO MODIFYING NEEDED
They also have real exhausts systems but you will need to have them installed professionally i.e. maybe cut (pipe & bumper, yeah bumper ) and weld. According to Performance Products.
LOL,

Just have a Carlsson exhaust installed, instead of a slip-on tip. $1500 for the set don't seem to be too bad considering I'm getting a real muffler. Thought I have to trim bumper, but after installation, found out didn't have to. Of course, it's better than a slip-on.

Shopping around for tips....
Does anyone have these type of tips? Its like the other ones but considered "REAL" tips, that actual smoke comes out of tips. Will I be able to fit this on an AMG bumper?

Those tips will not flush with the bumper and will look very fake if you have them on your car. I am selling my AMG style Quad tips which is all chrome and will flush in with the car it fits perfect with the AMG bumper. I recently bought the S55 muffler system and I gotta say they look almost identical to the Quad tips I had on the car. Let me know if you are interested I can sell you my all chrome quad exhaust tips! Here is the link again to them on my car:
