Rear view mirror on permanant dimmer
Drivers mirror is now yellowish all the time and blurry, like it is on dimmer all the time. The dealer told me the glass has worn out in the mirror and has to be replaced for $840.
Has anyone else had this happen, and is there a cheaper alternative?
Thanks

Parts.com has the mirror for $489.00 or the mirror assy. for $506.00. * this is for driver side mirror
There are cheaper aftermarket alternatives if you do a search.

Car
I had it happen on my 2000 S430 before. I have no idea how it happened, but the seal around mirror happened to crack and eventually leak the fluid out, which somehow turned yellow inside the mirror when it broke.

Found the following post from a fellow member (post #4), it is for ML but it probably applies to your car as well.
Hope it helps!, let us know.

Sorry, I meant drivers side rearview mirror. The one outside on the door. The sael is broken, which I am replacing.
Is it reversible, like water may have caused the mirror to change?
