DVD - Clueless

I just bought a 2004 S600 and all of the DVDs are missing. I hate to be an idiot but I can't tell what I need. Can someone tell me?

System Disc?

Most recent upgrade of system disc?

Nav Disc?

Thanks. And so I just get the latest version, which seems to be 9.0 (or an earlier one like 8.0)?

You should buy 9.0, from a dealer. If the disc is unreadable, you need "interim updates" from the "service disc"- a disc your dealer should have. Typically, if you buy your nav DVD from the dealer and the system cannot read it, they will do the needed update free.

For more, see post #12 at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/audi...de-mode-2.html but be aware that the "servivce disc" part number has probably changed since the post.

For hints on operating your nav system, see https://mbworld.org/forums/audio-ele...ml#post2571009

Also be advised that updating your COMAND firmware to show ETA and a better display of phone signal strength will remove the ability to program the nav system while in motion. That's something I occasionally ask my passenger (wife) to do, so I have not had mine updated.
