I was wondering if anybody knows how i could upgrade my factor subwoofer? I want to keep my factory head unit.

 

on my car 2000 s430 the only way to upgrade it its to replace that sub with an aftermarket one in the trunk with a separate after market amp, the existing sub will have to be destroy from the bottom unless you r willing to spent 4hrs taking out the seats rear panel rear side trim very hard.. so i destriy it the existing sub and use those wires to get the signal for the aftermarket amp

 

Thats a lot of great information...I know this is an old thread but I'm looking to replace my sub and I need to know how much depth I have so I can purchase a new sub. Do I need a shallow sub?
