Replacing XM antenna in 2000 S500

Replacing XM antenna in 2000 S500
My antenna that is mounted above the factory GPS thing on the roof, has crapped out. I have a replacement, but am unsure where the wire would need to be connected. I can see they tucked it under the weatherstripping down into the trunk somewhere, but don't know where the wire would need to go. Hopefully somewhere in the trunk vs. the dash.
I had it replaced several years ago at the MB dealer and it took them about 10 minutes. They don't do that work any more.
Any help would be appreciated.
