Airmatic failure...
Hi...
I have a 2000 (purchased in 1999) S500. Last night, the airmatic system went out without any warning lights. The car dropped to practically 1in off the ground. Tried pushing the button on the dash to raise the car...didn't work.
The car has been lowered approx 1" all around using the adjustable links.
I'm wondering, should I be worried that my dealer will say that the airmatic failure was caused by me lowerering the car.
Any tips to handle my dealership would be appreciated.

my airmatic warning came on twice and i paid 90 bucks today to get it diagnoised, i have faulty air compressor and a faulty valve, it costs around 1500$ incl. labor to fix it, assuming that i've paid about 3000 to my dealership since february just for service, i dont think i will fix this problem. fu** these problems! i guess u gotta be earning alot of money while ur driving a car like this to keep it.

all fixed...
Hi...
Looks like the airmatic failure was due to a faulty compressor. It was all covered under warranty and was done in a few hours.
Yup, my car is approaching 4 years (Warranty period done next month). I'm diggin' out of it soon.
Thanks.

Umm I need an answer ASAP for this. My friends are driving their 2003 S430 all the way down to FL from NY and there trunk is loaded. They got the "airmatic car too low" light on. Is this something serious because they got approx. 17 hours to go?

apricotscrub,
It says a faulty compressor and blow fuse for airmatic system. Both replaced under warranty.
Don't want to know how much it would have costed w/o warranty.

That's why some of us buy exclusionary aftermarket warranties for our cars
My warranty is running out in October, so I'll be picking up an exclusionary policy soon. Exclusionary policies list what it doesn't cover, as opposed to the common warranties that list what they cover. They are usually more expensive than the regular policies, but they cover a lot more stuff.
