Dome-light fan rattling?
Hey guys,
I'm not sure if I'm the only one with this problem, but I know there's a fan within the dome lights and from time to time theres this little rattling noise. Most likely just the fan hitting some kind of plastic trim inside the housing...
that "little" sound is KILLING ME
If anybody else has this problem or knows how to actually fix it let me know!
Thanks!

As in up near the rear view mirror?
If it is I had the same issue and apparently it relates to the AC somehow, I want to say it is a fan to keep the sensor cool. The dealer replaced mine whilst it was in for a service.

It is an aspirator motor, one of two in the car. See the W220 S-Class Owners Start Here sticky at the top of the forum, look under Air Conditioning and heating, and see "Buzzing noise from dash."

yes the one near the rear view mirror!
I remember reading a thread about relating to AC but I thought it was more cleaning the actual climate control unit! I know theres a fan at the climate control unit but the sound is coming from near the dome light thats why I'm so confused!
SKYLAW WHERE ARE YOUUU!!! haha

I also have this problem and it is most noticed on a cold morning. The dealer kept the car three days and finally determined that the aspirator motor bearing were failing. Part on order. You should replace if you want the "automatic" setting for your heat and A/C to work properly.
