HELP...Rear Tires Rubbing on Highway

just installed 19 X 9.5 Wheels/275/35/19 Mich's and I'm getting rear tire rubbing from....I think..inside the quarter panels (Rear).

This only happens when I go over bridges or uneven surfaces at highway speeds.

Can I shave inside of body?

Tighter suspension...suggestions?

What's the wheel offset? Sounds like wrong wheel offset.
If so, you can most likely get away with spacers. I don't like that idea, I'd say just get wheels with the correct offsets... but it may be too late for you.

Re: Help...Rear Tire Rubbing on Highway

Wheel offset is (30) in back... (19 X 9.5) Rims....ET is 35 front 19.5 X 8.5 rims...no issues there...

It theory you could adjust the ride height just ever slightly in the rear. Just enough to not give the car rake, but just enough to keep it from rubbing. There is a slider ajustment under the car on the axle that will allow you to do this.

The problem is the car lowers a bit at highway speeds automatically. Thus causing the rubbing issues

this is a result of a low offset and wide tires so spacers wouldn't help in your situation. depending on how bad the rubbing is, you might be able to grind off the tabs where the rear fender meets the bumper. if that doesn't work, you might be able to get away with running a smaller tire or having to get different wheels with a higher offset.

i rubbed against the tabs when i lowered my car and i'm running a 245 tire on a 9.5" wheel with a et35.

Yeah, the offsets are 30mm. So they're rubbing on the fender, not the inside panel. In which case, you can roll the fenders or get different wheels. Those offsets are too low for the W220.

Funny, I test drove an used S600 a couple of years back with the same problem, the salesman noticed it too. A few minutes after we came back from the test drive, I saw them pulling the car back in the service area and changing tires to 18".

Easiest fix would be to just roll your rear fenders. Take it to a good body shop and they will do this. Not a big deal.

I am invested in the rim/tire set-up...$2400...

How much would rolling the fenders cost?

I wish I would have known this before dropping the cash. I read this site thoroughly before buying. Expert opinion needed! No disrespect the newb's ( like me).
