Illumination Mirrors.
I have this problem with Illumination Mirrors ( Think that's what it's called ) that stays ON even during the day light. And only driver's side and the rear-view mirror. The passenger side is ok.
So I am thinking of disconnecting the wire from somewhere and not sure which is which. But if I cover up the eye on the rear-view mirror, both driver's side and rear-view mirrors are nice and clear during the daylight.
Can someone help me on this ?
It's a 2000 S500.

There is another sensor (called the ambient light sensor)behind the rearview mirror on the right side, see if it's blocked with something.
I think these sensors only control the rearview and the exterior driver side mirror.

You just seem to be the only one to respond to most posts...lol Thank you so much for the response.
Every time I cover up the eye ball on the rearview mirror, then the driver's side and the rearview mirror would clear right up. So I was even thinking trying to disconnect the wire directly to that eye ball if I can. But not sure which.
I am just wondering if there's a site similar to realoem.com (BMW) to find out which connection for what part...you know what I mean ?

Yeah...That's the part I don't wanna give out too much info these days. Well...Put it this way...That issue doesn't bother me too much. Plus my wife only drives it locally. I'll save the link tho, just hope I don't have to use it...lol

PS. I see that you have your S430 at 134K miles now ? Wow...Is there any issues with it ? Mine is 65k now. Was owned by a petite and young Real Estate woman. I guess she didn't have to anywhere with car too much. I picked it up in 07 was 24K miles on her.
