2001 S500 CD changer has no power
Hello Everyone,
I am new to this forum. My friend has a 2001 S500 and after the rain we had here in Cali the radio has no sound. It also says no CD changer. I went in the trunk and found that the CD changer had no power. I could eject the cartridge. So I checked all the fuses and they were all good. I have read some of the threads on this forum and most were about the fiber optics. Would the fiber optics cause the CD changer not to have power too? I alos tested the lines that go into the changer and it has power. Sounds like the CD changer is dead. Please help!!!

very common for the fiber optics of the cd changer to fail and cause your condition. you have power and ground if the cd changer ejects the disk. you can test the fiber optics by testing the optics of the connector. if you seperate the orange fiber optic lines from the connector find the one that blinks when you turn on the radio. put it into both spots of the cd changer and see if light comes back out of the cd changer.
