Fair price to offer for 2002 S430
- Dealer listed 2002 S430 with 53700 miles.
- Only had one owner.
- Only has the standard equipment for that model year.
- I've looked it up on Edmunds and offered slightly below the TMV, but was scoffed at.
- It was listed by an auction company with an asking price of $17900, but I rightly/wrongly assume that was not what the dealership actually paid.
Any thoughts from the esteemed assembly?

That sounds like reasonable price to me for a soon-to-be 9 year-old car, right?
After all, if the dealer is expecting you to go above $20k, for that price you can probably get an S55 that's MY 2003+ w/ the supercharger![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

2000 S430 140k (07/11)
Imo, 17-19k is about right for that year with that mileage. Can't get no s55 03+ with that kind of mileage.
I would personally go for at least 03 with higher mileage to take advantage of the newer style and more reliability.

This is just one example that it's worth it to step up to S55 of the S430 wants $20k.
This guy's asking low $20's, though with higher mileage. I agree it's worth it to get newer 03+ style, and even better if can get AMG.
