both rear blinkers flash when only one side should?

hey
I've recently noticed that when i turn on signal blinkers to any one side (left, or right doesn't matter), it blinks correctly on the front and on the mirrors, but on the rear both side blinkers flash (like if I were using the warning blinker)...

what can be the problem? bad wiring? or programming?

** damn police just pulled me over again to tell me about this...

check all turn signal bulbs, make sure that a single filement bulb is not install in a dual filement socket. that would be the most likely cause incorrect bulb installed.
