i dont think anyone without several billion dollars can replicate a W220 S-class starting from scratch. it may only cost benz like 5,000$ to make one and sell it to you for 90,000$, but thats cuz they have like a multi-billion dollar investment in the production line.

The guy is selling replica exotic cars ie "kit cars". The Mercedes in the auction is a real mercedes and from the description probably a S430 with Lorinser style body kit. I think seller is trying to sell the image of owning a more expensive car than it actually is. The car is probably re-badged to a S500 or even an s600. The car is not built from scratch. And I don't think it only costs Daimler-Chrysler $5000.00 to build you a $90,000.00 W220.
