congrats - nice car, though most 600's i've seen just have the plain "V12" badge on side, and no V12 on trunk.
p.s. I noticed the key in the ignition, but it looks like keyless - do you need to order new key?

bzliteyear,
The only key that came with this car was not the keyless go key.
So, I do need to order the keyless go key.

And Das Geld, thanks for the placement link. It does look better in your photo. I think I may move it to the right spot.

I have to ask the million dollar question, how much

I would like to think low 30's, but in todays market high 20's may have worked.

Anyway, nice car my friend

You wouldn't believe me if I told you......No kidding.
The car was purchased through Bruce Mendel.
I don't mind PM'ing you the number because I am not fond of having my personal information readily available on a public website.

A Mercedes obviously!
Very nice 600! Looks just like mine apart from the AMG alloys...

Looks like someone has added some extra wood parts around the central vents...

That's S65 badging. The 600s just have a subtle V12 blended into the chrome bumpstrip wotsit below where the 'V12 Biturbo' badging is in that photo. Also no V12 badging on the trunk lid.

I'll have to compare to mine when I leave work but the 'S 600' badging also looks a bit off, could just be the angle though. Changes in badge placement to me are a sign of possible 'paint exchange' with another vehicle...

Yes, but there is nothing wrong with putting the V-12 BiTurbo badge on the 600.

Also he already has it, so im just telling him how to adjust it.

As for the V12 on the trunk that doesn't look so good

Agreed on all counts, the 'V12 BiTurbo' badging on the wings isn't vanity badging...just noting that stock 600s don't have it.

I'd take the V12 off the trunk faster than, well, something I'd do really quickly!

How was it not the keyless go key? I assume you already tried using the Keyless Go so I won't ask you to try it. That is very strange, both of the keys for my car work with the Keyless Go system so I have no idea why yours doesnt.

Maybe I misspoke....I am not sure if the keyless go key is a credit card size piece of plastic or an actual laser key that also dubbs as a keyless go key.
I have no experience with this system, so forgive the ignorance.
What I can tell you is the vehicle has only one key and I have not driven this car yet. I am picking it up Friday, 1/7.

The early W220s, '00-'02 had a credit card like Keyless Go. The '03+ cars had normal looking keys programmed with Keyless. I've got three normal keys for my '04 that is Keyless equipped but only one has the ability to operate Keyless Go.

Well, when you get the chance, try out the key.

Congratulations on your outstanding purchase and welcome to the club!

nj500fbc,

Sorry for the indiscretion, but I noticed the plate: "Are you a dealer"?

Never a problem with a question....
No, I'm not a dealer, but the gentleman who bought the car for me is a dealer; Bruce Mendel with Becks Imports.
He has the car until this Sat when I pick it up in PA.

Congratulations! I have been looking for an S600 for myself for about a month. I've found a 2003 with 42,500 miles which looks to be immaculate for $23,000, but my concerns about repair costs have kept me from pulling the trigger. Well done.

Thanks, ChapelHill,
I hear you about the repair cost concerns. I purchased a Fidelity Platinum warranty last night for the vehicle......not cheap but better than the alternative.
I knew I was going to buy the warranty before I bought the car, so I was accounting for that expense already. I could/would NEVER own this car without one.

Did I read somewhere here that your Fidelity warranty is a 5-year bumper-to-bumper for $5K? The best Fidelity seems to do on the '03 I was looking at is a limited warranty for $3,500 with a maximum payout of $6,500 in repairs. That doesn't seem worth it to me, but I would jump on a similar '05 with a bumper-to-bumper warranty for $5K. Maybe I just need to wait until a comparable '05 or '06 is available? Enjoy the car. I am sure it is incredible.

Bruce Mendel can give you better information than I can as he is more knowledgeable (brucem105@comcast.net).....Remember Fidelity's exclusionary plan is based mostly on miles not so much on year...I can tell you my options were 3/36 =$3376, 4/48 =$3957, 5/60 =$5151 . That includes his markup and is based on my miles (31k) and that warranty includes nearly everything on the car.
One other, not so great, piece ofinformation. Fidelity rates went up as of January 1st, 2011 on the S600 (among others), so the previous numbers are
now plus $1400.
If you can believe that....
Luckily, I just happened to buy mine at the end of December..
