Shaved door moldings.

I found a pic of a W215 that had shaved door moldings and I think it looks great. Has anyone ever seen a w220 with the door moldings shaved? My only concern is that the door seem to flare outward where the moldings go. I want to make sure that won't make it look funky.

The CL:

Just a quick mock-up. This is probably how it would look like

I think that both the CL and S look terrible without it. It makes the doors seem too tall, like SUV doors. It looks like there's something missing.

IMO....it looks terrible. the moldings give the car it's beltline that flow into the rubstrips on the bumper and around the car. if the rubstrips were shaved too, maybe it would look better, but it's more likely that it'd look like a big marshmallow.

Cayenne GTS, Cayenne Turbo
agreed... both the CL and S would look odd without a beltline.

Mine are all crooked from the car getting hit. It looks much odder with them on. That photoshop however doesn't look right I agree, perhaps I will not do it. I think it might just work on the CL better than on the S.

2000 S430, 1999 E 320, 2 K5 blazers,
the CL looks bad ***, without the moldings.

But if you were to do it with the S you would need to drop it and fix it up. Stock it would look horrible IMO.
