Hi there
2 things :
1) its your mag, that is going bad, especially if the car is 8yr old or more
2) you have loose connection (the cables) or the cables are bend or broken

See the Audio & Radio portion of http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...tart-here.html The reason for failure to eject may be a switch in the CDC; Miko's blog addresses that. However, if you need to replace the magazine, Alpine makes them; MB dealers charge $35 or more each; big box stores charge around $10 (I haven't checked prices recently).
Some folks have had luck holding the eject button in for a very long time - a minute of more. Some have had to repeat this 5 to 10 times. If that doesn't work, see Miko's blog in the link I gave you.
If you had a broken fiber optic cable, your entire audio and phone system would be down. Also, your COMAND unit would start up, then shut itself down. If a fiber optic lead is bent too tightly, you would experience static, and possibly intermittent audio. Because other components work, and you do not report a problem with static, I believe your problem is more likely with the CDC than the fiber optics. However, checking the connections is fairly easy. You can locate equipment using the phone bulletin at http://phdwebsite.powerpulse.cc/Phon...ins/S%2003.pdf - and while you're back there, check that you don't have water in the electronics bay in the trunk.

CD Mag stuck !!!
Assuming it is the trunk CD changer:
Rather easy to disludge the magazine from the CD changer.
Take a long thin knife and insert it between the bottom of the magazine (not into the magazine itself) and where the magazine rests, pushing the knife diagonally from right to left will trigger a release prong in there, and presto.
