Infrared Glass blocking electronic signal Please Help

I moved into a community in which they use electronic gate opener. Apparently the infrared glass is preventing the electronic device (sticker) to transmit a signal. I am looking at the manual for the bypass area but still having problems. I am trying to find the areas in which anyone else have used in order to get electronic devices to work( ezpass for tolls etc) Thanks in advance

There is a designated spot for transponders. It is the black area on the sides of the mirror. It should work if it's mounted there.

I had the same problem and was able to get a manual openner for our gate, it still does not have the distance that the other cars have but works.

gentlemen, this is why you have owners manuals. It clearly describes, with a picture, the spots that don't have that shielding.

I have used the buttons on my mirror to operate the gates in my community. I used the separate gate opener provided by the community to program the mirror buttons.

I am trying to put it in the areas based off the maual but it is not working. I also tried to put in the in black areas on the edge. I even looked at other mercedes in the community to see where they have their stickers placed. I will get a flashlight to try and see the areas that the book is recommending. I may have to get the buttons programmed to work the gate opener. Thanks for the help

I programmed our community gate remote to the car's homelink buttons. no problems with interference or functionality.
