Wink you can also see the alternator voltage

digitally in a similar way, but I've forgotten which code it is. You'll know it when you see it as it will be 14.0 V.

A tad distracting down there though, strictly for the navigator to play with if you are in motion.

I do not quite understand, but I guess you are referring to setting 21 showing the battery voltage? Of course, it could be different in your car, although I doubt it. The battery voltage is normally setting 24.

Hey guys, I want to learn from you new tricks or interesting observations. Don't wait for me.

So I give you something boring to stimulate your feedback (which you might incorrectly classify as boring):

If you move the front seats the anchor points of the seat belt moves up and down in synchrony.

Also, if you have keyless go and stopped the engine, the radio will stop playing when the driver's door is opened. If you click the gearstick once before opening the door it will keep on playing ... until you lock the door from the outside.

If you hold down the "A" button on the climate controls for a few seconds it will bring the remote control for the rear A/C and you can adjust fan speed and temperatures.

Perfect! How often have I leaned backwards and "guessed" the setting the last passenger set it at, before adjusting. Obviously it speeds up heating/cooling of an empty car if the rear A/C is set to support the front A/C.

If you very briefly tap the indicator lever (left or right) the car will blink exactly 3 times and then stop; this helps when changing lanes.

I wish this thread was a sticky, I have to keep searching for it whenever I want to view it. I subscribed to this thread. Very useful information!

Especially the windows down feature from the key and door lock and the Remote A/C Control for the rear!

Keep posting guys, I love this thread!

Hissing farts

The suspension should do that - it's normal. The reason is that the system is pressurized to something like 2200 PSI while running. When parked, it releases excess pressure from high-pressure spheres. You'll hear a click from time to time after shutting it down (yeah, these cars are so electronic, they have to boot and shut down), and the hissing.

With ABC, it's normal for the car to settle a bit too. If you park the car for a while (say 2 weeks), it'll sit a little low. My previous CL would bleed out almost entirely after 3 weeks. My S doesn't do this, but does sit a little lop-sided after a bit. As long as the car rights itself when you start it and the warning in the dash doesn't come on (it's obvious - dash turns red and says "STOP! car too low") you should be good. With AIRMatic, it should not settle much at all as the springs will take much of the weight off the rams.

It works on a 2004 model with a separate A/C in the back. You may need option "582 Rear A/C unit". Just a rear fan may not be enough.

One has to be quick though. After a few seconds the display reverts to show the front settings.

yeah i love that its a computer on wheels, the hissing sound is funny because its basically hydraulics on low riders but with mood swings - somedays it releases pressure and somedays it doesn't. this car suprises me every other day

Here is something I found useful on my Euro Comand in the 2004 S600 with MOST. You may not have the same way to enable the function.

When approaching a turn (using Navigation) Comand can zoom into to map so you can see the turn itself on a larger scale.

This can be switched on/off in Comand as follows:

Press Mute + 1 + 3 (all 3 keys at the same time) for 5 seconds while Comand is running (with or without the engine running)

Then Select COMPONENTS
then select NAVIGATION

on the next screen you see INTERSECTION ZOOM at the bottom and the button to the left of this option will switch it on/off

I'm one of those who holds their hand over the centre console to see if it's blowing....until now that is. Chicks are going to dig me so bad now.

Easier instructions to open all windows at once with keyless go:

1. While the car is still locked press the black keyless go button and hold it for a few seconds, until the indicator lights in the mirror have flashed 3 times.
2. Then release the black locking button; pull the handle and hold (do not open the door) and the windows will start opening.

Interesting, that the sun roof will re-adjust in about 1 minute, after the bulk of the hot air has disappeared. It will first close and then tilt up at the back to create an escape for hot air. I figure that the MB engineers have worked out that a fully open sun roof lets more heat in than out – after the initial escape burst.
If you open the door and close it again the car will keep the sun roof fully opened.

As it is very hot in the vacation resort today I removed the fridge from the car (standing in the sun) for re-stocking in the house and pre-cooling. I was very surprised that the fridge was still cool inside and outside, while the rest of the car was boiling.

It must be the location of the fridge, basically inside the fuel tank, that stops it from warming up. The tank was 3/4 full.

Note that the fridge holds 2 full size champagne bottles. This is not at all to be expected. However, this is possible by the construction of the door, where the corks fit into a "bay type" widening on the inside of the door.

Dont feel bad, it took me a month to figure out that i need to pull out the light swich to get the fog lights on and then i saw that it also have a rear fog light?!!! Wow i said. But does it really works??? You tell me. But anyway i still find new stuff for me to play with. I have a question, does the 03 s500 have the feature that raises the radio at highway speed i look in the manual and could not find it but sometimes it sounds like the radio gets louder on its own. Just wondering?

Side mirror kerb view in reverse

Hi to keep the fun going, you can set the side mirror on driver opposite to adjust automatically to show kerb when in reverse. To set theview adjust the mirror and press M within 3 seconds. For function to work, keep the mirror selector to the right side (assuming left hand drive). Cheers
Ps: does someone know if you can do the same for driver side view mirror.

Hi separate ac means separate temp and fan control in the back? Becoz I knew and tried the trick before but no success. Mycar S350 2005 with no fan or temp control in the back, only vents.

Thx.

Hi. The seat headrests (front) can be adjusted (tilted) ...put hand in middle empty space and pull forward to support your neck/head....

I feel stupid it took me six years before noticing this...

On the inside of the glovebox door, there's a little compartment door that has some clips to hold a tire pressure gauge and/or pens.
